The Bulbosa has dark green long curly leaves. In nature they grow epiphytically on shrubs and trees throughout Mexico, Central America down to Ecuador and northern Brazil. It is a hardy plant that will adapt to being attached to drift wood, hung from fishing line or even grown out of shells. When in bloom, its leaves change slightly from green to a deep red colour and a red flower spike appears. The stem of the flowers will stay prominent for several months. When the bloom dies off, the plant begins to produce ‘pups’. Once the pup is 1/3 of the size of the mother plant, it can be gently removed. The plant you will receive is pre-bloom, however at flowering size.
The Bulbosa prefers filtered light, and requires frequent watering.
